Community Involvement

We involve community members in the implementation of early childhood programming.
  • PiSL will only intervene when local interest and commitment is strong.
  • PiSL collaborates with an in-country NGO  (Volunteers Initative Nepal) and community stakeholders to create a development plan that inlcudes early childhood education.
  • PiSL must obtain a clear commitment from the community (parents, teachers, influential stakeholders) before beginning an early childhood project.

Parents and community members are asked to contribute in any way they can , such as to:
  • Supply construction materials
  • Provide labor to repair damaged classrooms and build new ones
  • Contribute a small financial donation
  • Ensure that children regularly attend school
  • Make rice mats to cover floors

Community members are interested and want to be part of the decision-making for their villages.

Meetings are held in schools, under trees or
on a flat patch of ground.
